 The Story: A Nightmare Hiding in Plain Sight
Set in 1958, the film follows David Moran (Daniel Manche), a young boy living in a quiet suburban neighborhood. His world changes when he meets Meg Loughlin (Blythe Auffarth), a teenage girl who, along with her disabled sister, Susan, is sent to live with their aunt, Ruth Chandler (Blanche Baker).
At first, Ruth seems like an ordinary caretaker, but behind closed doors, she harbors a sadistic streak, encouraging her own sons and neighborhood boys to torment Meg in horrifying ways. As the abuse escalates to unthinkable levels, David becomes torn between fear and a growing moral obligation to help.
With no escape and no one to turn to, Meg’s only hope is that someone will find the courage to stand against the evil consuming her world.
