Plot Summary

A decade after the horrifying events of The Sand (2015), where a group of friends found themselves trapped on a beach where the sand devoured anyone who dared to touch it, the nightmare is far from over.

In the years that followed, the mysterious deaths were dismissed as urban legend, and the beach was permanently closed off to the public. However, a team of scientists, led by Dr. Richard Hayes (Thomas Jane), has been secretly investigating the phenomenon, determined to uncover the truth behind the flesh-eating sand. What they discover is more terrifying than they could have ever imagined—the creatures lurking beneath the sand have not only survived but have evolved. They are now faster, more intelligent, and capable of spreading beyond the cursed beach.

Meanwhile, Lisa Carter (Emma Roberts), the sister of one of the original survivors, has spent years obsessed with finding answers about what really happened. When she hears about a new incident on a secluded island resort, where tourists have mysteriously vanished under similar circumstances, she joins an expedition to uncover the truth. Along with Mark Evans (Dylan O’Brien), a skeptical journalist looking for his next big story, and a group of unsuspecting travelers, Lisa arrives at what seems like a tropical paradise—only to realize that the horror beneath the sand is far from contained.

As night falls, the group soon realizes that stepping on the sand is a death sentence. But this time, the creatures are more than just mindless predators. They are hunting with precision, drawing their victims in, and setting traps. The survivors must uncover the origins of these monstrous entities before it’s too late. With no way to call for help, limited supplies, and the sand closing in around them, they must fight to escape before the entire island becomes their grave.
