A new chapter in the Bridgerton universe could soon be taking shape, as creator Shonda Rhimes has revealed that discussions are underway for another potential spinoff. This time, the spotlight may shift to one of the series’ most quietly compelling figures: Violet Bridgerton.

Following the success of Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, Rhimes has identified Violet as her top choice for a future series. Long portrayed as the emotional anchor of the Bridgerton family, the matriarch’s story has largely unfolded in the background—defined by grace, resilience, and unspoken depth. According to Rhimes, her journey is “rich,” suggesting a narrative layered with themes of love, loss, and the courage to begin again.
The groundwork for such a story has already been subtly introduced. Season 4 expands on Violet’s connection with Marcus Anderson, a relationship that pauses when she realizes she is not yet ready to open her heart. However, as showrunner Jess Brownell has confirmed, Violet’s arc is far from complete—leaving room for further exploration.

Even in Julia Quinn’s original novels, Violet’s personal story remains only lightly touched upon, most notably in Violet in Bloom. Much of her emotional journey, particularly her second chance at love, remains untold—offering fertile ground for a deeply resonant narrative.
In a world known for sweeping romances and high-society scandal, a series centered on Violet Bridgerton could bring something different: a more intimate, mature exploration of love and healing.
And in doing so, it may become one of the most emotionally powerful stories in the Bridgerton universe yet.
